This painting was created because of the story behind the photo I had seen. Pastor Bjorn (The Why Church) was in England and took this picture when he visited the farmstead of George Williams (the founder of the YMCA). The shortened version of the story is that George was delivering a cart of hay to the farmstead and he tipped it over the hill you see. His parents had offered to move him to London to be a drapery maker as he didn’t seem suited for farming. There is so much more to this story and bottom line that is why I call it “Turning Points”. We all have Turning Points in our lives don’t we? This is the story of George’s.
